The Defense Department has awarded researchers from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Division of Vascular Surgery and University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering a 4-year, $2.5 million contract to further develop the project called "A Rapid, Temporary Stent for Hemorrhagic Injuries of the Torso" that works to aid noncompressible hemorrhages, which results in mortality among service personnel and civilian gunshot victims. read more...
